THE SECRET INGREDIENT, THE CONCEPT
EVENTS, 16.04.24
During Milan Design Week, some sophisticated silhouettes have appeared on the walls of the Arclinea Milano store. Characterizing the set-up of the store, these figures offer an interpretation of the concept of behind events and initiatives that Arclinea has planned for these days: an exploration of empathy, as the ability to relate to each other, with food and cooking serving as a meeting point. The secret ingredient of a brand that considers people - their desires, tastes, and experiences - as a central factor in the design of its kitchens.
The author behind the art work highlighting the secret ingredient is the Spanish illustrator Illot, whose poetics explore the human capacity to share, feel emotions and have fun. Illot’s characters, curious and creative simple figures with an extraordinary expressiveness, offer an evocative interpretation of the everyday gestures and actions in the kitchen, as a place of connection and epicenter of domestic rituals.
ILLOT
Born in Madrid in 1976, he approaches illustration by studying cartoons and painting techniques which has led him to experiment with different visual narrative languages. He combines his professional work in illustrated books, with the creation of personal illustrations and explores formats for responsive comics on his website and social media networks.
"The delicate, neutral, and natural tones of the illustrations establish a harmonious relationship with the Arclinea products, creating a refined, warm, and welcoming ensemble."
