Suspended between sky and city, the kitchen is conceived as an elevated vantage point: an interior that opens onto the greenery of the park and the rhythm of the urban landscape beyond. Within this setting, Convivium with Lapis takes shape as a precise domestic architecture, defined by material, light and spatial continuity. Surfaces reflect the exterior, extending its presence into the room, while the layout establishes a fluid environment where preparation and conviviality coexist in balance. It is an open, essential system in which every element contributes to a measured equilibrium between function and expression.
CONVIVIUM WITH LAPIS
Antonio Citterio’s design vision continues the exploration of the kitchen as an increasingly open space, closely connected to the dining area. Within this framework, the Lapis table emerges, echoing and extending the language of the Convivium island to establish a natural continuity between functions. Conceived as a high table, it introduces a more relaxed and informal way of inhabiting the space, encouraging moments of interaction and sharing. The coherence of materials and detailing forms a harmonious whole, where each element engages with the others in a discreet yet precise dialogue.

The layout unfolds around a central island and a wall system with folding doors, allowing functional aspects to be concealed or revealed as required. Materials define a refined palette: PVD Plus bronze stainless steel for doors and plinths, polished Calacatta Gold marble for worktops and backsplashes, and NTF fumé oak for tall units, boiserie and accessories. Details such as the anodised aluminium bar in a bronze finish and integrated handles contribute to a consistent and quietly sophisticated language.
The island forms the focal point of the project, defined by a Calacatta Gold marble top carved from a single block. The veining develops symmetrically at the junction with the table, creating a continuous, precisely balanced pattern. The sink and tap in PVD Plus bronze stainless steel are seamlessly integrated. Jens stools in NTF brushed light oak introduce a note of lightness, completing the material balance. Surrounding the space, tapered shelves with integrated lighting run along the NTF fumé oak boiserie. The wall system with folding doors compacts and disappears within the tall units.
The quality of the project lies in its ability to dissolve boundaries between function, interaction and landscape.

Framing the space, large glazed doors gently filter the transition to the living area, allowing the gaze to extend while maintaining visual and stylistic continuity. The kitchen remains in constant dialogue with its surroundings, while preserving its own functional identity. The result is a coherent, contemporary composition, where materials, geometries and details converge without friction to form a considered and welcoming space, designed to support the daily rituals of life and conviviality.
