Presented in 1988, the Italia model marked the start of collaboration with Antonio Citterio, who was then to take over as art director and designer for the entire Collection. Right from its debut, Italia embraced the aesthetics and technical solutions typical of professional kitchens, bringing their functions and typical methods into the home years before this became a widespread trend: the characteristic handle, the prevailing use of steel, deeper worktops fitted with large cast iron hobs and double sinks, suspended hoods, and the iconic double-island layout. While staying loyal to its original concept, over the years Italia has evolved with the addition of new technical details, better-performing equipment, and more sophisticated finishes, confirming its vocation for maximum functional results.
ITALIA, LIGNUM ET LAPIS, FRAME SYSTEM
The work and socialising tools and functions of the two Italia islands in Vintage Plus stainless steel dialogue with the elegant walls of tall units to the sides, with Lignum et Lapis doors in NTF black oak and characteristic original design. The floor-to-ceiling wood panelling integrates the Teca refrigerated wine unit at its centre, while on one side it features an unusual built-in Frame System double door that opens onto the dining area. The wood panelling continues seamlessly, with the Teca Madia unit standing out within the wall of tall units.
A space that becomes architecture in the design of a professional kitchen connected to the living area.
Functionality and conviviality are closely connected to ensure ease of use of the tools while at the same time allowing for a welcoming and comfortable living experience. At the center of the wall, a built-in boiserie storage unit, Teca, with Stopsol glass doors, interiors in NTF american black walnut, and integrated 3000K LED lighting.
Italia recessed handle is an Arclinea patent and is artisanally produced in-house using an exclusive unique process.
Innovation, design, originality, attention to detail: Italia handle is a concentrate of some of the fundamental qualities of the Arclinea Collection. A video reveals the entirely manual production process that takes place in the Caldogno factory, which results in an integrated handle flush with the door, enhancing the exclusiveness of the door itself.
Compact and functional, the work island in Vintage Plus stainless steel, 8 cm thick Grigio Collemandina marble worktop with 1.2 cm drip guard, accessorised channel, double sink, built-in preparation and washing area, sliding PaperStone® grids and chopping board. Suspended Double Shelf in Vintage Plus stainless steel, 60 cm deep with built-in 3000K LED lighting.
Storage accessories for base units and tall units feature Moka Box System internal drawers. The large wall of wood panelling that separates the work space from the living area has functional built-in tall units, closed behind Lignum full-length doors in vertical NTF black oak, with Artusi handle in PVD Plus black.
An iconic composition from the Italia project, the double island is the perfect expression of the maximum operational functionality typical of the concept developed by Antonio Citterio since 1988. Over time, the technical ideas, accessories and materials in this solution have evolved: from steel to stone, through to quartzes and granites.
The dining area adjacent to the kitchen is elegant, combining the light wood of the table and the Teca Madia with the black of the boiserie storage walls, made with the Lignum door from the Frame System which, with its exclusive design of vertical slats of varying widths and spacing, enhances the natural beauty of the wood.
Main player in the dining area, in the centre of the Lignum wood panelling in vertical NTF black ash, the double Madia (240+240 cm), doors in Stopsol glass with coplanar motorised opening system, linings and accessorised drawers in NTF fossil oak, and built-in 3000K LED lighting.
