In a bright contemporary apartment overlooking greenery, the kitchen becomes a precise architectural presence within the domestic landscape. The Thea composition draws the space through a perfectly symmetrical C-shaped layout, defined by an intense burgundy red that envelops cabinetry, surfaces and a coordinated checkerboard floor. Rosso Lepanto marble on the worktop and backsplash deepens the chromatic density of the whole, while on the fourth side full-height glazed doors establish a direct relationship between kitchen, dining and living, allowing light and perspective to flow continuously across the interior.
THEA
Designed in 2021 by Antonio Citterio, Thea interprets the language of Arclinea through a rigorous yet flexible minimalism. The handleless system, defined by its integrated opening profile, becomes a continuous graphic sign that ensures surface continuity. The range of materials and configurations allows multiple interpretations while maintaining formal balance, design precision and a consistent aesthetic identity.
The composition unfolds along three sides, forming a compact and perfectly balanced operational perimeter. Base units, wall units and tall cabinets in matte Borgogna lacquer interact with glossy Rosso Lepanto marble covering both worktop and backsplash, introducing a natural material animated by light and deep veining. The checkerboard floor echoes the dominant tone, reinforcing the graphic structure of the space, while the full-height glazing opens the kitchen towards the living dimension.
A decisive chromatic composition that transforms the kitchen into an architectural volume.
Rosso Lepanto is the material protagonist of the project: an Italian marble characterised by an intense red background crossed by white and grey veining, defining the worktop with elegance and visual strength. Matte Borgogna lacquer fronts complete the palette with a deep, refined tone. A black anodised aluminium bar runs along the backsplash, introducing a continuous yet discreet functional line.
Thea confirms the versatility of Antonio Citterio’s minimal design language.
Arclinea worktops are designed to integrate sinks and cooking areas within a seamless surface continuity. In this configuration, stainless steel sink and induction hob with integrated extraction are embedded with technical precision and formal restraint. Internal drawer systems organise utensils and accessories with clarity and order, offering tailored solutions that optimise space and enhance everyday use.
